(UPDATED 3/1/05 15:15 UTC) The assessment team of HRT arrived on 14:50utc back at Greece after a assessment trip over the affected area. The team has visited Colombo, Maldives and Banghong during the last 4 days. HRT is planning an emergengy medical missin to Banda Aceh shortly.More info soon...

(UDATED 30/12/04 09:42UTC) Our team has arrived at the Colombo airport on 00:30 UTC today. They are on assessment mission. Probably tomorrow they are going to depart to Banghog.

 

(UPDATED 29/12/04 10:46UTC) HRT's team is fluing at thiw moment to Maldives. After that they will continue to Sri Lanka and the final destination is Thailand.

(UPDATED 28/12/04 10:09 UTC) Two members of HRT have allready departed from Greece earlier today. Team's destination is Colombo / Sri Lanka. The team is equipted with ICT and medical supplies for supporting the local authorities.Estimated time of arrival 01:00 on 29/12.

The national meteorological services announced heavy rainfall and strong winds for later today. The Ops mngmt of HRT is monitoring the progress of the weather changes.

An earthquake of 5,2R has been reported in the sea region of Dodecanese without any injuries or damages. The origin time was 01:02 UTC (+3h local).

HRT is on alert cause of the weather warnings that may occur serious problems during the night.

(UPDATED 14/9/04 15:45 UTC) Four rescue boats participated at the search operation for the missing helicopter. Until now the SAR boats of HRT have discovered 7 bodies and 2 more were discovered by other boats. There are stil missin 8 persons. HRT is now on stand by phase and since yesterday evening all boats returned at their bases.

(UPDATED 13/9/04 07:30 UTC) A SAR operation is in progress 20 miles south of Chalkidiki in north Greece to locate any of the missing persons of the helicopter that came down yesterday morning. The helicopter was a CH-47D of the Hellenic Airforce and his destination was the capital of Mount Athos community. Until now the crews of the 4 rescue boats of HRT descovered 7 bodies.

(UPDATED 6/9/04 22:00 UTC) A major forest fire is in progress in north Greece at the tourist village of Marmaras-Chalkidiki. The villege is evacuated. Incoming informations are reporting that only the main road is between the flames and the first houses. The HRT first aid team is in the area to provide assistance.

(UPDATED 27/8/04 23:53 UTC) HRT members found the person that was missing since yesterday in a mountain area near Trikala. The man is in good health and has returned safely home.

The ops mngt of HRT is following all informations aboyt th earthquake that hits Chile earlier today.
There is a missing person (man) in a mountain area near the city of Trikala - central Greece. A search team of HRT is on his way to the area to participate on the searching. Since yesterday nothing has been found by the police and the fire services.
