The Hellenic Rescue Team and the partners of the European Project SILVANUS will organize a public workshop on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 18.00, at the Manolis Anagnostakis Hall, to present the project and the digital technologies developed within its framework for the effective management of forest fires.
The SILVANUS project is funded by the European Union under the framework of Horizon 2020 and its objective is to develop technologies and tools for more effective management of forest fires, starting from prevention to restoration. To fulfill its goals, the project has 49 international partners, including environmental and social scientists, end users as well as technical specialists.
The CERTH, the Region of Central Greece, the University of Thessaly, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the Hellenic Rescue Team are the project's Greek partners.
During the workshop, special emphasis will be placed on the role and involvement that citizens could have in the management of a forest fire, especially through the use of technology, such as digital applications, social media, etc.
