The Hellenic Rescue Team in Turkey with a mission of 30 volunteers-rescuers

Tonight, 30 members of the Hellenic Rescue Team from all over Greece will depart from Thessaloniki to assist with search and rescue operations in Turkey's earthquake-affected regions. They will be supported by a search and rescue dog and specialized equipment.

The Ηellenic Rescue Team's mission is scheduled to arrive in Istanbul tomorrow morning and then will fly to Adana with assistance from the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD), with whom it will cooperate on the field.

The HRT rescue-volunteers will utilize specialized First Aid equipment, hydraulic rescue kits, stretchers, defibrillators, thermal cameras, hazardous gas detectors, generators, telecommunication devices and other equipment. Additionally, every HRT member will be equipped with all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

We would like to express our gratitude to the Turkish Embassy in Athens and the Turkish Consulate in Thessaloniki for their assistance of the Hellenic Rescue Team's effort.

We would also like to thank Mrs Christina Aspropotamiti for her unconditional support and all those who supported the realization of this mission!
